I checked out online, our old colleague in cattle ranching, and he may know a lot about business, he does not know a lot about ranching. But, I guess he’s learning.

We let the herd figure out naturally it’s seasons. I read an article on his style of ranching. It seems to me, some associations on ranching is over thinking it, when reading too many books on ranching and making things happen. Seems like a forced and uptight way of ranching, to me. Let the herd figure it out. Their seasons come naturally, and not every cow comes into season, at the same time.

Seeing a dirty, mud encrusted, feeder calf in a penned up feedlot upsets me. God never intended animals to be bunched together like that.
