“There is a legend that our Lady appeared to Saint Dominic to give him the Rosary, to teach him how to pray it and to commission him to propagate the devotion. This legend was circulated by Saint Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort, the great Marian priest of the Dominican Third Order. The story is also mentioned in several papal encyclicals and in other authoritative sources, but it lacks historical evidence. It may indeed be true, but there is no documentation from the early 13th century to prove or disprove it. On the contrary, the meticulous depositions taken from eyewitnesses to investigate the life of Saint Dominic during his canonization process, although they mention many of his miracles and revelations, say nothing about the Rosary. Historical records, in fact, tell us a different story about the origin of the Rosary, saying that it developed in stages.”
My Two Cents Worth
Seems the Incredulous took over, after Vatican II, and started sewing the Sin of Doubt into Catholicism. If Papal Encyclicals, and Saints say Our Lady gave St Dominic the Rosary and told him to promote it, why sew doubts about that?
I do not think very much about folks who now call these ORAL & WRITTEN TRADITIONS “Myths!”
I think that is so wrong, to propose such nonsense.
“St. Dominic prayed with his body as well as with his soul. For the sake of brevity, let us abstract from the content and motives of his prayer, to summarize the nine ways he used his body in prayer.
1. Bowing before the altar.
2. Prostrating himself on the floor with his face down.
3. Whipping his bare back with an iron chain.
4. Staring at the Crucifix while kneeling repeatedly.
5. Clasping, opening or spreading his hands.
6. Stretching arms out in the form of a cross.
7. Stretching or reaching straight up to heaven.
8. Sitting to read or to ponder readings.
9. Separating from others on the road and repeating the Sign of the Cross.”

Edith Stein / Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross
Direct quotation from two paragraph’s in Wikipedia.
“Edith Stein, also Saint Teresia Benedicta of the Cross, sometimes also known as Saint Edith Stein (October 12, 1891 – August 9, 1942), was a German Roman Catholic philosopher and nun, regarded as a martyr and saint of the Roman Catholic Church. Born into an observant Jewish family but an atheist by her teenage years, she was baptized January 1, 1922 into the Roman Catholic Church and received into the Discalced Carmelite Order as a postulant in 1934. Although she moved from Germany to the Netherlands to avoid Nazi persecution, in 1942 she was arrested and sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp, where she died in the gas chamber. She was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1998.
Stein is one of the six patron saints of Europe, together with Saint Benedict of Nursia, Saints Cyril and Methodius, Saint Bridget of Sweden and Saint Catherine of Siena.”

My Own 2 Cents Worth
I have often wondered if Cardinal Timothy Dolan interiorly, “Is this Cardinal on psychotropic drugs?” Why? Because he acts strange, overly gregarious, and frowns a lot. I wonder if he has full control of his mental faculties. IMHO. It’s just my supposition. I have no facts. Just a hunch.

To Give Hope and Encouragement through the Word of God
" The “door of faith” (Acts 14:27) is always open for us, ushering us into the life of communion with God and offering entry into his Church. It is possible to cross that threshold when the word of God is proclaimed and the heart allows itself to be shaped by transforming grace. To enter through that door is to set out on a journey that lasts a lifetime." Benedict XVI
