Mass at St Peter’s Basilica: Pope B16 Presiding

20120629-200040.jpg

Grateful to be able to watch this Mass on EWTN, on the Feast Day of Ss Peter and Paul.

My house is messy. I need new carpeting and linoleum. I’m going to have to get it done one room, at a time, and buy remnants, to be able to afford it. I really mess up these projects, now that I’m older. Getting old is not for cowards, I tell you what. Oh well. I’ll let God breathe, between miracles.

Ss Peter and Paul, pray for us, now and at the hour of death. Amen. Deo gratias!

Thank U God & St Peregrine!

Now, I can move forward, without that cross, on my shoulder. Thanks be to God!

Thanks, for the prayers, St Peregrine. Thanks everybody else, for your prayers, too.

We are overjoyed to announce that Representative Allen West (R-FL) has graciously agreed to participate in this year's Troopathon effort to raise money to send care packages to our troops fighting overseas.

This is the kind of support that only a pro-troop organization like MAF, and our friends in the community, can corral. We have the big names like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Laura Ingraham.

St Francis of Assisi ~ Patron Saint of Animals

Saint Francis’ Canticle of All Creatures

Most High, all-powerful, all-good Lord,
All praise is Yours, all glory, all honour and all blessings. To you alone, Most High, do they belong, and no mortal lips are worthy to pronounce Your Name.

Praised be You my Lord with all Your creatures, especially Sir Brother Sun, who is the day through whom You give us light. And he is beautiful and radiant with great splendor, of You Most High, he bears the likeness.

Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars, in the heavens you have made them bright, precious and fair.

Praised be You, my Lord, through Brothers Wind and Air, and fair and stormy, all weather’s moods, by which You cherish all that You have made.

Praised be You my Lord through Sister Water, so useful, humble, precious and pure.

Praised be You my Lord through Brother Fire, through whom You light the night and he is beautiful and playful and robust and strong.

Praised be You my Lord through our Sister, Mother Earth who sustains and governs us, producing varied fruits with coloured flowers and herbs.

Praise be You my Lord through those who grant pardon, for love of You and bear sickness and trial. Blessed are those who endure in peace, by You Most High, they will be crowned.

Praised be You, my Lord through Sister Death, from whom no-one living can escape. Woe to those who die in mortal sin! Blessed are they She finds doing Your Will. No second death can do them harm.

Praise and bless my Lord and give Him thanks, and serve Him with great humility.

My Own Personal Prayer:

“Dear God, I stepped on my cat’s foot accidentally. Please heal her foot. I have no funds to take her to the Veterinarian, until next week. Help her to heal, quickly. Thank You – God for hearing my pitiful prayer. I love my cat and hate to see her suffer. Please hug her for me, and give her relief of pain. Amen.”

“Dear St Francis of Assisi, the Church declared that you are Patron Saint of Animals, so please pray for my cat, to get better. Ask God; to have Mercy on her, and relieve her pain and heal right. Thanks. Amen.”

Chains of Saint Peter

“St. Peter, the first pope, was imprisoned on 2 separate occasions during his 25 year reign as the Vicar of Christ.

The pious Eudocia, wife of Emperor Teodosio II, journeyed to Jerusalem and found the chain that had bound Peter during his second imprisonment. According to the Acts of the Apostles (12:6), an angel caused the chains to fall from Peter’s hands and led him past slumbering guards to freedom.

The chain was eventually given as a gift to Pope St. Leo the Great (440-461). In Rome there was already a chain that was greatly prized which had bound the saint during his nine month imprisonment in the Mamertine Prison near the Forum. When the pope compared the two chains, they miraculously fused together into one unbreakable series of links. Because of this miracle, Empress Eudocia built the Basilica of Saint Peter in Chains, and dedicated it to the apostle in the year 442. The relic is now kept in a golden urn beneath the high altar, close to the famous statue of Michelangelo’s Moses.

St. Peter was crucified in the year 67. He requested to be nailed to the cross upside-down, because he did not feel worthy to die in the same manner as his Saviour, Jesus Christ.
