Activist pleads for US help to leave China (Yahoo News)

“Activist Chen Guangcheng told AFP on Thursday he did not feel safe in China despite assurances made under a deal to remove him from the US Embassy, pleading for American help to take him abroad.”

“”I want to go overseas. I want the US to help me and my family leave China,” Chen said by phone from a Beijing hospital where he is being treated for a foot injury suffered during a daring escape from house arrest on April 22.”

“”I don’t feel safe here. I want to leave.”"

He has accused those officials of persistent physical abuses and threats against himself and his family.

“God helped me escape. God helped me,” he said.

Rights Groups demanded that the United States stand by Chen.

“The Chinese government must honour its commitments to Chen, and the US and other governments must continue to insist at the highest levels that it does so,” Amnesty International said, accusing Beijing of acting in “bad faith”.

“The coming days are critical, but the well-being of Chen, his family and supporters demands long-term scrutiny and international pressure.”

God, Angels, and Seat Belts...A Conversation with Philip

The Younger Boy and I have some of our best conversations in the car.  We live in the country, so it takes us a little longer than others to get to our final destinations.  Since his mind is always running, we talk about all sorts of things, ranging from superheroes to schoolwork to ice cream.  But, more than anything, we talk about God.

Of Spiking Footballs and Bullets

This is the last time (for this incident anyway) that I'm going to write about spiking of footballs and such. I thought perhaps a little historical context would be appropriate.

On 11 July 1864 Jubal Early and his Confederates approached Fort Stevens (in the Washington defenses). At the time the fort was held by home guards, clerks and convalescent troops. Fort Stevens is on the Northwest side of Washington.

I'm related to President Lincoln. Look like him too. :/ Still learning how to duck. Must be a family trait to expound a lot, but forgetting to learn there's a time for peace and a time to duck. ;D

What is Cell Phone Etiquette?

After seeing a crazed young man, pass by my house today, walking on the sidewalk, and fighting out-loud, I noticed he was calling a woman a “bitch” and many other hateful words, into his Cell Phone. Cell Phone Fighting is just plain dumb. It shows a disregard for yourself and others. It shows a lack of emotional restraint, needed in your personal life and in your public life.

So, I went on a search for a common sense website, in the hopes that some day, folks like him, will get a clue and stop, such hatefulness. Makes you wonder, if their parents and schools did them any good. Seems they learned nothing, in such a short life. I still think this young man is crazy, but it just could be his generation has not been taught right, or they are still in rebellion, from what they were taught by parents or schools. Could be either, or.

Cell Phones can be helpful.

However, Cell Phone Driving is just as harmful as Cell Phone Fighting,in public. Both are dangerous. Yet, driving and using the Cell Phone can kill you, your occupants, or anyone else who is driving on the road, or walking or riding a bike by the road. I know. One of my sisters was severely injured, when someone was distracted by their dog, and they passed onto the other side of the road, and hit my sister, who was riding her bike. My sister had to have surgery, on her shoulder. So, be careful out there. What you do, can hurt yourself, and everyone else, who is around you.

Cell Phone Etiquette is just common sense. Faith and reason. It’s a “Do unto others, as you would have them, do unto you,” teachable moment, that can save lives.

Passion of the Christ with Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Man’s inhumanity to man is acted out every day, in the lives of everyone, in the whole world. Our Passion makes no sense, unless united with Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection. And, yet: Christ asked us – through Saint Faustina Kowalska, to recall the Price of Our Redemption everyday at 3:00 PM 1500 Hour.

Can we not recall Christ’s Paschal Sacrifice for us everyday, at 3:00?

If just for one minute or one fleeting moment each day…can we not say “Thank You, to Jesus for dying for us all?” We must be a grateful people who recall like the Jews did, God’s Great Love for us and the whole world: to have sent to us all, this Jewish Messiah to redeem us, from our sins.

(“Lead thou, me on, Kindly Light.”) (“Jesus, Meek and Humble of Heart, make our hearts, like unto Thine.”)

“For, the sake of His Sorrowful Passion: have Mercy on us, and on the whole world.”

“Eternal Father I offer You: The Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son; Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.”

“Holy God. Holy Mighty One. Holy Immortal One: have Mercy on us and on the whole world.”

“In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

“Jesus, I trust in You!”

Pesach

Recounts the Story of God delivering the Israelites and Moses from Egypt’s Pharaoh. It is a Flemish language video, but it is cute. Note: Matzah and Manna prefigured Christ’s Body and Blood, present in Holy Communion: Divine Food for the Journey. Since Jews are our elder brothers and sisters, I post it here. The Torah and Bible converge. Moses’ Story is ours too. Enjoy.

Visitors unwelcome in Chen’s hometown

Visitors unwelcome in Chen’s hometown

Seems Chinese People are paranoid and schizophrenic. I never seen more nosy men. Is this a century old, tradition? Or did countless Mortal Sins make them, this abnormal?

The above link is an interesting, first hand account of the oddity of Planned Parenthood Type of Men on Steroids, it seems.

The cultural and political divide, in their own country, shows how messed up their citizen’s are. I feel sorry for the poor folks caught, in the middle of their pointless power struggles. Seems there is no shame, in their approach to social life. Their Government encourages spying on one another, from the womb to the tomb. They are utter control freaks!

Guess, more prayer, for Chinese People is needed.
