I do not drink. I have other vices. Drinking to get drunk is asking for trouble. Just drink with a meal and stop. Drinking to excess is intemperance, and a sin. Drinking and driving is just wrong. Don’t do it. Pick a designated driver who will not drink. Pedestrians and others on the road need you to drive your best. Even being tipsy makes your cognition depleted, and unfit to drive. Take a Taxi home, or call a relative, to come get you. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” the old maxim says.
I hope you have a safe and responsible celebration. Remember: for Catholics, Sunday is a Holy Day of Obligation. In the USA, January 1, is a Holy Day of Obligation, too.

Tower of Babel Painting, Artifact, Biblical Record
This above photograph was found in the Norwegian business man, Martin Shoyen’s new book; “Cuneiform Royal Inscriptions and Related Texts in The Schoyen Collection.”
This stone is 2,500 years old. The man depicted on it is King Nebuchadnezzar II, who ruled Babylon, 2,500 years ago. He’s the idiot who ordered this Tower of Babel” to be built, to reach a false god. God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had other ideas. He botched the King’s plans, by making everyone speak from then on, another language. God pretty much, fixed King Nebuchadnezzar II’s butt by fouling up his foolish plans.

And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phan’u-el, of the tribe of Asher; she was of a great age, having lived with her husband seven years from her virginity, and as a widow till she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.
And coming up at that very hour she gave thanks to God, and spoke of him to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.
And when they had performed everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.

Humpty Dumpty – Days!
Humpty Dumpty sat upon a wall

It’s been one of those Humpty Dumpty – Days, for me. I guess I best let God breathe, between miracles. Things work out, eventually. God is our ever present, unfailing Strength, when you feel too weak to battle all life throws at you.
Today, I felt the prayers and the love of others. So, unlike Humpty Dumpty, I feel better. Question is: Is it a quick fix or a permanent one? Time will tell. I’ll trust God, for that one, too.
